MY LIFE AS A BASEBALL WIFE

David and Camille, here. So, you want to know more about the baseball life? Well, then you have come to the right place, because educating others is our specialty and we want to show you around. Regardless of your age or baseball status, we have something to pique your interest. So grab a cup of coffee, a smoothie, or a protein shake, and get comfortable. We want to get to know YOU.

We're so excited you've stumbled upon this little space we created within the BIG world-wide-web, just so that we could connect with you. Via this pretty awesome platform, we educate young aspiring baseball players and their families, on what it takes to stand out in the world of baseball. We start by helping you identify if the path you are currently on is headed straight for your intended destination. Once we get to know you a little better, we set you up with a roadmap so that you can say you did everything you could to reach your goals while knocking a few out of the park in the process.

THIS IS WHERE IT ALL STARTED…

Ok, Camille talking now… From the moment I met David, baseball was a part of our lives. When I graduated from college and shortly after we got married, I decided to stop working in favor of traveling with him while he pursued this crazy dream of becoming a major league baseball player. At that time – 2012 – I started documenting our adventures in baseball together because my passion has always been writing, and I needed a way to release all the craziness that accompanied our lives. David made his MLB debut in 2013 with the New York Yankees, the same year that we welcomed our first baby. Since then, we had another baby boy, and David retired from playing. Now a coach for the New York Yankees, our adventures in baseball do not appear to be slowing down, in fact, I would say we are approaching the adolescent years. Because of this, I decided to start documenting it from a whole new perspective.

Yankees: The Love-Hate Relationship

By Camille | Oct 19, 2012

Since I’m not Nick Swisher I can probably write this post without receiving hate mail.  Probably, being the operative word. I’m going to come right out and say it, being with the New York Yankees is both a blessing and a –for lack of a better word – curse. When the Bronx Bombers drafted David …

Walk in their cleats

By Camille | Oct 15, 2012

This post was prompted by my utter shock and disbelief regarding the world we live in today. There are too many examples to give that prove the state of duress our world is in, but I will start with baseball. This wonderful yet, at times, brutal, microcosm we live in, is a prime example of …

A little bit of this, a lot of that

By Camille | Oct 10, 2012

Firstly, I have a wonderful announcement.  This Stepford wife has a job! For those of you who do not understand my sense of humor, no, I am not a Stepford wife. Not in the literal sense anyway. I love the workingwoman and I know well what it means to work just to pay the bills. …

Yankee Tradition

By Camille | Oct 7, 2012

As most of you know, the Yankees are not just a baseball team; they are a brand recognized throughout the world.   As such, they are very particular about their reputation and the brand ambassadors who represent the Yankee name – the baseball players and staff.   Although every baseball franchise has it’s own traditions, I am …

I had a blast doing this interview. Not only did I get to see the new Marlins park for the first time, but David agreed to do the interview right alongside me. Special thanks to Mark Newman at MLB.com for the opportunity and Albert Gomez for meeting up with us to complete the taped interview. …

Home of the Scottsdale Scorpions

By Camille | Oct 4, 2012

As I was driving back from the stadium this morning, it dawned on me that Scorpions in Scottsdale is a reality. Mascots are rarely selected at random. I’m glad I waited to publish this post because right when I picked David up after practice today he yelled out, “Oh my gosh! Guess what the clubby …

“The honorary Stepford Wife”

By Camille | Sep 29, 2012

Just this week my sister launched her new and improved website – finally.  In said website, she wrote the blog “The Campins Cast of ‘Characters.’”  Here is her description of me:  “The youngest of the Campins women and undoubtedly the one who is always right – just ask her. As an agent of the Campins Company, …

Home sweet (home)

By Camille | Sep 19, 2012

Well, we lost.   That is, the Trenton Thunder lost.   It was a tough Championship series and we just couldn’t pull through and win three out of five.   The loss was emotional for most because it meant going home.  It meant leaving new friends and a team that we may never play with …

Struggles down the stretch

By Camille | Sep 10, 2012

It’s Monday, September 10th and it’s a travel day. The Trenton Thunder won the first series of the post season in four games against the Reading Phillies and, I am not trying to jinx us, but we are now three wins away from becoming AA Eastern League Champions. It has been a very long season …
